Description
in the 17th century style, comprising two armchairs and two side chairs, with high arched backs flanked by brass finials, the backs and seats with brass studded embossed leather panels, the armchairs with foliate carved arms, raised on turned legs with a ‘Braganza’ foot, united by front scrolling stretchers (4)

Provenance
Bought by the present vendor's Scottish grandfather on a business trip to Portugal, or possibly to Brazil, as a business representative. The date of purchase passed down family history is the mid-1920s, before his marriage in early 1927.
