the rectangular glazed case with moulded pediment, the silvered gauge plate set with a mercury thermometer and coloured oil filled barometer tube with sliding vernier scale, a basal register disc with pointer below, inscribed ‘Improved Sympiesometer' and signed ‘W. White. Hull’, a bone adjustment knob to the side
