oval, watercolour on ivory, the sitter with red hair and blue eyes, a high white collared red coat with gold epaulettes, a white sash with a badge of a three turret castle with ‘27’ below, set inside a yellow metal locket frame, the reverse with wide lattice of woven hair set with four pairs of yellow metal initials to the angles ‘ED, CD, JCD, MR’, with suspension loop
