Description
the engine turned gilt dial with Roman numerals, signed ‘Arnold, & Dent, London, No.524’ with a subsidiary ‘Slow/Fast’ dial issuing from the XII numeral, the finely cast and chased architectural case surmounted by two large figures of Time (Chronos) and Victory (Nike) supported by acanthus scroll corbels, the dial within a bezel of a snake biting its tail, the moulded stepped base with acanthus scroll bracket feet centred by a sunburst mask, the single train chain fusee timepiece movement with signed and numbered backplate
