oval, painted on ivory, by repute the sitter is Robert Orme (British 1728-1801) in old age, depicted in a white powdered wing, red waistcoat and jacket, with a concave glazed gilt metal mount; together with a PORTRAIT MINIATURE OF A GENTLEMAN, LATE 18TH CENTURY, oval, painted on ivory, of the same subject in the same clothing, with monogram ‘HR’ to the right shoulder, set in a yellow metal clasp setting; and a PORTRAIT MINIATURE OF A GENTLEMAN, LATE 18TH CENTURY, oval painted on ivory, in a powdered wig and brown waistcoat, set in a yellow metal clasp setting (3)

Part of the former contents of Poltalloch House, Kilmartin, Argyll; designed by William Burn in the Scottish Baronial style and built circa 1849-1853 for the Malcolm family
