with a complete deck of 56 stencil coloured woodcut playing cards (French suits) each suit of 13 with four court cards of the valet (knave or jack), the cavalier (knight), the dame (lady or queen), and the roi (king), also with one fool (joker) card, the knave of hearts with marked ‘John Eberhard’, the queen of hearts with initial cartouche ‘IE’, the king of hearts with initial cartouche ‘inN’, the knave of spades marked ‘Karten Fabrikant in Nuremberg’, both the queen and king of spades with initial cartouche ‘JE’, together with set of 21 double-ended trump cards with Roman numerals I-XXI to both sides, depicting animals and people, versos of all cards purple paste marbled; all inside a small black and gilt japanned box [57+21] (77)
