the 12 inch square brass dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers enclosing the matted centre with ringed winding squares, decorated date aperture and subsidiary second dial, pierced cherub spandrels, the stepped domed caddy top with inlaid panels over a pierced frieze and moulded cornice surmounted by three ball finials, supported on giltwood mounted Doric columns, the long trunk door with elaborate patterns of scrolls and foliage, centred by a brass framed oval lenticle, the base with matching pattern, the sides with two boxwood strung panels, the weight driven movement with five pillars and a five wheel going train to the anchor escapement with outside countwheel and striking to a bell
