the body with rows of quills mounted in ivory dot inlaid ebony bands, opening to a brown baize slope with two small concealed drawers and a frieze dot inlaid ‘MATURA’ below, the top opening to a pen tray with two inkwells, the interior of the lid inlaid with a scene of two floral vases and two mythical beasts in black and red painted ivory
