of octagonal baluster form, the body enamelled in colours of green, blue and yellow with birds amongst rockwork, flowers and foliage by the waterside, the neck with a band of stylised floral decoration enclosed within a metal mount, the lower body with a border of elongated palmette leaves, unmarked

A smaller but similarly shaped baluster vase dated 1678 is in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. See D. F. Lunsingh Scheurleer, Delft : Niederlandische fayence , Klinkhardt & Biermann, 1984, cat. 171. A faceted double gourd jar with a similar foot, painted in the same colours, is in the V&A reserve collections (C466.1927) and attributed to Delft 1660-1680.
