to include an early iron key, with accompanying note ‘KEY TO CORTACHY CASTLE HANDED TO 10th EARL OF AIRLIE BY SIR ERNEST WEDERBURN PRESENT DESCENDANT OF THE OWNER OF PEARSIE. KEY FOUND THERE WITH LABEL ATTACHED’; a pair of George III paste set shoe buckles, set with a continuous line of paste jewels, and with traces of gilding and bright cut decoration, with steel fittings and triple looped chapes; and a gilt white metal and filigree bodkin case, with filigree overlay, accompanied by a plaque inscribed ‘TOOTHPICK - CASE/ GIVEN TO THE EARL OF AIRLIE BY HIS FRIEND LORD ARTHBUTHNOT’ (3)
