The modelling of this rearing horse bears stylistic influences of the antique Buontalenti Horse
(Marble, Late 1st century A.D. - early 2nd century A.D, Uffizi, Florence), which in turn influenced the work of bronze rearing horse sculptures in Tuscany during the first half of 17th century. Predominately the work of Pietro Tacca (1557-1640), Ferdinando Tacca (1619-1686) and Francesco Fanelli (c.1590-1653).
