Footnote
The firm of Gill & Reigate was founded in 1899 and by 1901 it was trading from 85 Oxford Street, London. Advertised as ‘Dealers in Antique & Modern Furniture, Artistic Decorators and Upholsterers’, Gill & Reigate were decorators to King George V. The firm appears to have traded until 1958, when they had premises at Arlington House, Arlington Street. This table is identical to stamped pieces by the firm.
