built by Joseph L. Thompson & Sons Ltd, Sunderland for the S.S. 'Induna' Co. Ltd., managed by Maclay & McIntyre Ltd, Glasgow, with carved painted hull, lined decks and superstructure with silvered fittings, mounted on four silvered columns on raised stepped base within the original mahogany glazed case, with a card maker's label plaque to each side

The ‘Loch Dee’ and ‘Loch Don’ were both steel screw steamer cargo ships built by J. L. Thompson & Sons Ltd, in the North Sands Ship Yard, River Wear, Sunderland. Loch Dee was built in Yard No. 578, launched on 31st March 1937 and completed in May 1937. Loch Don was built in Yard No. 580, launched on 10th May 1937 and completed in July 1937. Both were first owned by S.S. 'Induna' Co. Ltd. - Maclay & McIntyre Ltd, Glasgow. Loch Dee was broken up in Hong Kong in November 1959. Loch Don was torpedoed by U Boat U.202 in 37.05N - 61.40W on passage to New York for Table Bay with wheat and military stores.
