the square tilt top with a watercolour and graphite chess board, on a faceted baluster support and triform base on bun feet; with paper label ‘The Drawings & Painting are believed to be by Mary Pearce (née Chadwick) the wife of Charles Thomas Pearce of Grove Hill, Camberwell. She was born in 1800 or 1801, and died in 1866, W.S.E. 15 Mar. 1905’
