the gilt arched dial with silver chapter ring with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, the arch with subsidiary ‘Chime/Silent’ and ‘Chime on 8 Bells/Westminster' dials, with pierced putti mask spandrels, the large moulded arched case with urn and berry finials, the front dial flanked by caryatid appliques, the sides with pierced sunburst marks gilt brass grills, on cast scroll and paw bracket feet, the triple train chain fusée movement striking on a large coiled steel gong and chiming on a pin wheel activated nest of eight bells
