the brass 13 inch breakarch dial with silver chapter ring, Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary second dial and date aperture to the foliate scroll engraved mask, the arch with a silvered signature plate signed 'Robert Masson, Kilmarnock, flanked by double eagle heads and foliate scrolling, engraved foliate spandrels, the flat caddy top case with moulded cornice over a breakarch door flanked by free fluted columns, the sides with glazed Gothic arch panels, the trunk with a moulded Gothic arch door flanked but quarter fluted Doric columns, on a moulded square plinth base, the triple train movement striking a bell, chiming on a pin wheel activated nest of sixteen bells
