Bowyer, Pall Mall, 1812; a square vegetable tureen (cover lacking) printed with ‘The Principle Entrance to the Harbour at Cacamo’; an oblong ashet printed with ‘Necropolis at Cacamo’ and a plate printed with ‘Cemetery at Cacamo’, with a framed print entitled ‘Necropolis or Cemetry of Cacamo’, by L. Mayer, Published by R. The print entitled ‘A Tiger Prowling Through a Village’ includes two cows in the background. These are the source for the two cows that appear on the Caramanian border on all the pieces in this lot.
The Spode Indian Sporting Series originated around 1809. The source for the multiple scenes was the publication of monthly issues by Edward Orme of Bond Street, London, entitled 'Oriental Field Sports, Wild Sports of the East' written by Captain Thomas Williamson and illustrated by Samuel Howitt.
