Description
worked with various stitches in silk on linen, depicting a border of rosettes above crowned initials between two rows of letter and numbers, the main scene a country house and garden of flowers, animals, peacocks, lions, flamingo, dogs, a girl figure with a toy dog and two black figures, framed; together with a PAIR OF EDWARDIAN SISTER SAMPLERS, worked with various stitches in silk or cotton on linen, each of square form with alphabet, numbers and crowns arranged within a diamond, framed with initials, name and date, the first by ML, Melsiee Liddle, June 1901, the second by AL, Annie Liddle, July 1902 (3)
