the brass breakarch dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, signed ‘John Lupton’ to the lower edge, the foliate engraved centre with mock pendulum aperture, pierced spandrels, the breakarch with a subsidiary date dial flanked by pierced masks and a ‘Strike/Silent’ level to the side, the tall rectangular case with an inverted bell top, raised on a stepped base with brass bracket feet, the twin train movement with anchor escapement striking to a bell
