Note: A large watering can printed with the ‘Florentine’ pattern is illustrated in ‘The Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery’, vol. 2. The description states that the watering can, possibly by Gordon of Prestonpans, is the only transfer printed watering can so far recorded. Therefore the example above must be a rarity.
