Footnote
Note: The present panels bare strong similarity to a pair of linen and cotton panels embroidered with wool and silk, England, circa 1700-1725, in the collection of the V&A. The handling of the flowing ground, the small trees to the scene and the narrative of the panels would indicate a they shared a common origin or source reference. Accession Number T.84&A-1973
