Other exampes exist with dates ranging from 1641 to 1649, the year of Charles I's execution. A similar example dated 1649 is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London (acc. no. 492-1901) (see Jeremy Hodgkinson, British Cast-Iron Firebacks of the 16th and 17th Centuries, (Worth, Crawley: Hodgersbooks, 2010), p. 178, no. 258).
