Description
the brass breakarch dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture to the engraved centre mask, pierced brass spandrels, the arch set with a signature roundel signed ‘Wm Gillies, St Ninians’ flanked by a pair of pierced dolphins, the hood with broken swan neck pediment centred by a brass ball finial, above a boxwood pierced foliate frieze, the dial flanked by free Corinthian fluted columns with brass capitals, the trunk with shaped arch door with stringing flanked by Doric quarter columns, on a plain plinth base with step moulding on bracket feet, the twin train movement striking a bell
