Note: The statue is cast after a Hellenistic marble in the Tribuna of the Uffizi, Florence. The marble was first recorded as being in the Florentine Grand Ducal collection in a book by Albert Rubens, Peter Paul Rubens' son, posthumously published in 1665. In 1684 the owner was named as Cosimo III de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany (1642-1723). By 1688 the statue was installed in the Tribuna of the Uffizi (Haskell and Penny 1981, pp. 205-8, no. 34, fig. 106).
