painted to one side with a jockey on horseback, and the reverse with a mare and foal; inscribed to the base 'Oceania' (Aureole ex Ocean) and 'Danny La Rue' (Sharpen Up ex Oceania), and 'Aureole' dated 1978; raised on a green enamel socle base with a gilt moulded rim; the domed cover with a gilt finial handle; printed factory mark

Note: On the urn the thoroughbred racehorse Danny La Rue is depicted as a foal with his dam Oceania, and her dam Aureole. Danny La Rue, who was sired by the stallion Sharpen Up was named for the drag performer Danny La Rue, who was a frequent guest at Ashley Hall. It is believed the urn was a gift to the owner of the house, Jimmy Porter, from Danny La Rue.
