Note:Gertrude Hermes studied at the Leon Underwood School of Painting and Sculpture in London.She was best known as a print maker and book illustrator who exhibited widely at the R.A from 1930.In 1981 a touring retrospective exhibition was organised by the R.A.Her sculpture which she produced later in her career was inspired by Constantin Brancusi and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska and the 'simplified forms emphasised the dynamic movement of insects or the human figure.'
