John Seatoune, Edinburgh 1702, Assay Master James Penman, the flared body with central reeded girdle and on a gadrooned foot, the S scroll handle with tapered beaded rib flanked by stylised acanthus cut card work and engraved initials 'ST', the terminal with additional scrolling cut card work, the hinged cover with acanthus thumbpiece and gadrooned rim, with knopped finial with cut card stylised foliate decoration
