Footnote
Notes: early Scottish forks and indeed Scottish provincial forks of this type are rare, forks with steel prongs appear to survive in very small quantities. The maker's mark on this piece is a little rubbed, the outline of the punch and style of lettering seems to strongly indicate Robert Innes of Inverness.
