Footnote
An extremely rare item of Scottish provincial hollow ware. Other examples of Scottish provincial mustard pots do exist but are usually later in date. This is the only known example of hollow ware by this short-lived Dumfries firm. Other items noted to date are a small amount of flatware. There were no examples in either the Noble, Shaw, Morris or Ross collections by this maker. For another example of the mark see Thomson Roddick and Medcalf October 2005.
