Note: Lots 121-123 are associated with the Lovett family of Liscombe House, Buckinghamshire. According to family history, it is believed the shoes belonged to, and the needlework the work of, Elizabeth, Letitia, and Arabella Lovett, the daughters of Sir Johnathan Lovett. Of Anglo-Irish descent, Sir John was the first and only Baron of Lovett, a title created for him in October of 1781. He married Sarah Darby, and in addition to their three daughters, they had a son, Robert, who died in boyhood in 1807. Due to the fact Sir John issued no male heirs who survived him, the baronetcy terminated after his death in 1812. The Lovetts resided at Liscombe House, a red-brick Elizabethan mansion set in over 200 acres with an enclosed courtyard, which was rebuilt in parts the 1920s.
