Footnote
Note: This style of simple but well-made chest of drawers with three short over three long drawers is of a type known to have been made in Scotland, most likely originating with an Edinburgh cabinetmaker. They are collectively referred to being in the 'Dumfries House Style', as a number of chests of the same type were supplied to the house when it was furnished in the mid-18th century.
