Footnote
Note: By repute, these deck chairs were supplied to the Royal Yacht HHS Glasgow, owned by the Sultan of Zanzibar, Sayyid Barghash bin Said Al-Busaid, who ruled from 1870-1888. She was built in the style of the British frigate HMS Glasgow which had visited the Sultan in 1873. The HHS Glasgow failed to impress the Sultan, and she lay at anchor in the harbour at Zanzibar Town for much of her career.
