the rectangular crossbanded top inlaid with a games board and geometric motifs, opening to a green baize playing surface, above a frieze with Tunbridge marquetry banding, raised on turned and tapered twin supports on a rectangular base raised on scrolled sabre legs ending in brass claw caps and castors

Note: Edmund Nye worked in Tunbridge Wells from 1809 until his death in 1863. He was renowned for the high quality of his work, earning royal patronage from 1836 and exhibiting at the Great Exhibition of 1851.
