Description
the moulded swan neck pediment with carved rosettes above the 12in. arched brass and silvered dial with engraved star-spangled revolving moon phases above a Roman chapter ring with Arabic minute markings enclosing a partly matted centre dial engraved 'Tempus Fugit' and subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture; above a long trunk with quarter columns enclosing a panelled full length door with finely carved fanned and leafy mask to the top; the canted base on bold ogee moulded feet; the eight-day movement with finely turned and finned baluster pillars, smooth barrels and hourly rack striking on a large bell
