the gilt metal dial with white enamel blue Roman numeral cartouches, in a red tortoiseshell and brass inlay case mounted with allegorical figures of Providence and Knowledge, with a domed pediment surmounted by the winged figure of Victory, raised on gilt metal scrolled dragon feet; the eight day movement striking a bell and stamped 'LaGarde a Paris', serial no. 3112
