Note: Edmund and George William Blunt were American specialists in nautical instruments during the mid-19th century. After initially trading nautical books, charts and instruments, the brothers began to focus on the design of scientific instruments in the mid-1850s. This telescope may have been made by John or Thomas Blunt in England and imported through a New York outlet.
