the moulded arched case surmounted by a loop handle, above an arched brass dial with silvered Arabic and Roman chapters, signed 'John Gartly/ Aberdeen' with pierced brass spandrels and 'STRIKE/SILENT' dial, the sides with pierced brass fishscale frets, raised on brass ogee feet; the five pillar twin fusee movement with pin wheel escapement and striking on a bell
