with bell top, the 8-day bell-striking movement with five knopped pillars, gut fusees and verge escapement, the engraved back plate with makers mark ELLICOTT/ LONDON, the steel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, engraved with maker's mark ELLICOTT/ LONDON, and with strike/ silent to the upper left corner, the case with ebonised fruitwood veneers and brass mounts, having a brass carrying handle and glazed panels to the sides, the square door with brass bound circular glazed bevel, the whole raised on brass bracket feet
