veneered in ivory and stained ivory and decorated with floral and foliate penwork bands, the box inlaid to the exterior with a chequer board, hinged to the centre and with cushioned ends to resemble books, and enclosing a backgammon board and three boxes, the boxes enclosing thirty-two carved ivory chess pieces and thirty-two circular draughts pieces (65)
