in two parts; the superstructure with a brass gallery above a mirrored arched recess flanked by doors; the base with a central frieze drawer fitted with a ratchet adjustable writing slope flanked by two short drawers, raised on tapered fluted columns over a shaped undertier and mirror back, on an inverted breakfront base raised on toupie feet; outlined throughout with brass banding and mounts, with forty-six blue and white jasperware plaques
