Footnote
Note: Alexander Bower of Kincaldrum was the son of a Jacobite, who was arrested and jailed in Perth, where he died in the 1740s. Bower was, as a result of his family's political persuasion, taken as a young child to France where he was raised before returning to Kincaldrum. After he came back to his native land, he married Margaret Graham of Fintry.
Margaret Bower, nee. Graham, was the daughter of Margaret Murray of Ochtertyre. Her daughter, Helen Bower married Anthony Murray, 9th of Dollerie in 1801. As a result, Margaret spent the last years of her life at Dollerie House.
Both portraits have hung, since their execution, at Dollerie House, until now.
