the caddy top hood above a moulded cornice and blind fretwork frieze flanked by spiral turned half columns, the square brass dial with a silver chapter ring and cast spandrels inscribed 'Jos Saer, Porpoole Lane, London', with subsidiary seconds dial and day and date apertures, the trunk with a rectangular cushion moulded door and glazed lenticle, above a base with a plinth, the whole profusely inlaid with flowering urn marquetry, the five pillar twin-train movement with an anchor escapement and striking on a bell
