the circular silvered Roman numeral dial with calendar day/date chapters and inscribed 'Vulliamy / London', in a gilt metal circular bezel cast as a serpent biting its tail, in a rectangular rosewood case with ebony banding and a gilt metal cast eagle mount, on an ebony plinth base; the back plate engraved 'Vulliamy / London'
