Description
the terrestrial globe by Cary, the celestial globe by Smith, on mahogany stands with hoop supports and ring turned vase pedestal with tripod bases having concave legs with acorn feet joined by compass stretchers
globes 12" diameter; whole 42cm diameter, 90cm high

The terrestrial globe is inscribed CARY'S NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, DELINEATED FROM THE BEST AUTHORITIES EXTANT, EXHIBITING THE LATEST DISCOVERIES TOWARDS THE NORTH POLE, AND EVERY IMPROVEMENT IN GEOGRAPHY TO THE PRESENT TIME, LONDON with later inscribed autograph note SOLD BY G & J CARY, 80 St James's St, London.1825.
