Note:
Tay Bak Koi is one of Singapore's most celebrated painters of pastoral and rural landscapes. He is best known for his idyllic depictions of Southeast Asian kampongs (villages) with cottages, rocky outcrops, water buffaloes and children by the river at dusk or dawn. His meditative paintings convey an overall effect of tranquillity and serenity, and often evoke a moving sense of nostalgia.
