worked in knotted stitches and couched gilt threads to depict a yellow bird (possibly an oriole standing for civil officials of the eighth rank) facing the sun as it stands on a rock emerging from waves, surrounded by the bajixiang (the Eight Buddhist Emblems) amongst ruyi-shaped clouds, mounted within a glazed wood frame
