Note:
Wang Longfu, one of the most prominent Chinese ceramic painters of the 20th century, was born into a family dedicated to the art of porcelain making. His grandfather Wang Changbin oversaw the production of the imperial kiln in Jingdezhen during the Guangxu and Xuantong reign of late Qing dynasty. Wang Longfu's painting is known for drawing from Classical Chinese literature and for combining the Gongbi (detailed brushwork) and Xieyi (expressive brushwork) techniques of traditional Chinese painting.
