depicting four figures standing and sitting in a boat, their heads, hands and feet carved from ivory, one man with a monkey on his back, the woman with a basket of vegetables, the wood boat inset with red lacquer panels and a red laquer signature, the whole resting on a carved base simulating wave with an inscribed two character signature
