Note: A highly comparable dark unglazed stoneware maebyeong, note the similarity of shape, form and proportion, Koryeo Dynasty, 10th century, is illustrated in Margaret Medley eds., 1975, Korean and Chinese Ceramics, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, pl. 7, p. 9. Also compare to an unglazed prunus vase, Goryeo Dynasty, in the National Museum of Korea, accession no. Jeung 71.
