Description
finely worked throughout in the typical Komai style of predominately gold overlay, the cover decorated with a large peacock flying beside smaller birds, the sides decorated with butterflies amongst foliage, the interior well engraved with a dragon leaping amongst waves and four wild geese, signed on the base with a seal 'Nihon koku Kyoto no ju Komai sei' (Made by Komai of Kyoto, Japan) beside a bird perched on trailing wisteria
